Park Commercial Recreation

An application to provide commercial recreation services, such as guiding, concessions, rentals, etc. where a fee is charged to the public in exchange for a service. This would include commercial guiding activities e.g. guiding hikes, guided camping, providing cross-country skiing, scuba diving instruction, guide outfitting, snowmobiling, heli-skiing, or any other activity where goods or services are being provided to the public for some form of compensation. Businesses that provide accommodation services for guests would also use this application.

Park Filming

An application to film or take images within in a provincial park for sale or profit, which does not impact or create disturbance within the park or to park users.

Park Filming - Intensive

An application to film in provincial park, which meets one or more of the following criteria: exclusive use of a defined area, disturbance to natural or cultural resources, or park visitors, alteration to park facilities, furniture, signs, etc., use of heavy equipment and production vehicles (not transportation vehicles), within park boundaries; use of photographic or film equipment that is not hand-held (tripods are considered hand-held), use of special effects or access to restricted areas.

Park Research

An application to conduct research in a park or ecological reserve. Research includes increasing knowledge of protected area values for the inspiration, use and enjoyment of the public, contributing to scientific knowledge, providing educational opportunities or ensuring public health or safety.

Park Research - Investigative Use

An application to conduct investigations within a park for activities such as: determining viability of land use/occupancy for proposed uses that may occur within or adjacent to a protected area; or determining viability of land use/occupancy for proposed uses that are (or are anticipated to be) a reviewable project under BC's or Canada's Environmental Assessment Process or being investigated under a boundary adjustment proposal
